Weather/Climate:

You may already have noticed that Tromsø is pretty far north. In fact, it is several hundred miles north of the Arctic Circle. Therefore, you should bring winter clothes. The average November temperature is about 2C / 36 F. It can be freezing, and there may already be snow. If there is no snow, rain is not unlikely. It is therefore advisable to bring decent shoes that keep your feet warm and dry and provide grip on icy roads. If there is snow, be warned that although pavements/sidewalks in the centre and on campus tend to be heated, such heating is not universal. Roads and sidewalks can therefore be very slippery. Therefore, a good travel insurance might not be a luxury.

We will update you with a weather forecast just before the workshop.
