10.15 - 11.00 Trial lecture: "Approaches to head movement"
Please address the issue of (dis)placement of heads and the theoretical approaches to it taken in the generative literature, including the nanosyntactic approach in terms of "spanning" exploited in the thesis, but in addition to this also Ian Roberts' "defective goal" approach (and any others you think are relevant), and a broader discussion of the pros and cons of the traditional analysis in terms of physical displacement.
