The clan of linguists in Tromsø has a hallowed tradition of occasional Thursday evening lectures on topics in linguistics, followed by free-ranging discussion over liquid refreshments in the X bar. This is an opportunity for us to hear about new and ongoing research in the field, straight from the people who are performing it. But in addition, it is a forum for us to present our work to colleagues and students. Anyone who would like to give a talk, especially those who have recently finished projects or who are getting ready to present something at a conference abroad, is encouraged to try it out here. Write to the contact person. Suggestions regarding who you would like to have invited from afar are also welcome.
